When I am asked to support with a conflict, I take into account not just the particular context, but also the bigger picture of how structural violence impacts the people involved and how social, political and economic systems grew historically filled with discrimination and marginalization. Creating a conflict chart or map of any given conflict is a tool I use in getting an idea of how multiple dimensions of any given conflict fit together and influence each other.
